A while ago I spoke to a rep from Magma, who makes those thunderbolt to PCIe expansion chassis. She explained (at the time) that the problem was that thunderbolt expects hot-plug-and-play functionality and not all PCIe hardware is capable of that, for better or worse.I can only imagine that the NitrisDX + PCIe HBA combination has that sort of limitation. Pure speculation on my part, to be clear.
