Re: [Avid-L2] FR: PhraseFind

Like adding CustomSift options to PhraseFind?

That would be very useful.

I'm doing a very "PhraseFind" intensive job, trying to find audio in 3 hours of interviews, that the client has given in a rough paper cut.

One of the things that I thought that it would allow me to do, but it's not, is to pre-filter the search results of the PhraseFind searches.

For example, I have AMA material that I have transcoded. I also have an A camera with the audio and best shot, but also a Canon 5D mark II with crappy audio.

Whenever I do the PhraseFind, I want it to ALWAYS ignore the AMA footage and MVI clips. I can do some of that by eye, (only selecting those clips in the search results), but I'd rather have them filtered ahead of time. For some reason, despite great audio on our A camera, PhraseFind is sometime ONLY finding the "correct" phrase (accurately, I must say) on the MVI clips with the crappy Canon camera mic.

I also know who the speakers are, so I'd like to filter each individual search by only looking through the clips that have the specific speaker's name in the COMMENTS column.

So basically: Only give me DNxHD media. Never give me a clipname with MVI and also allow me to only search for a specific interviewee.

But the first two are the biggies.

I DID try to use the filtering tools in the Search window. I put ONLY the DNxHD media and none of the MVI clips in a single bin and closed all the others, then filtered on Current Bin. With PhraseFind searches, that still automatically opens up the AMA bin and reveals clips inside of it.

Still PhraseFind is probably saving me DAYS on just this one edit.
