Well, in this latest madness, it wouldn't matter if you did or didn't do that. The problem seems to be with with the uninstaller itself (which I have used now two different un-installers) to the same effect which is a kernel panic and shut down which I have NEVER seen happen in relationship to ANY software package that I have ever used, prior to Avid.

I've always found it safer to uninstall MC before doing OS upgrades and then re-installing MC and that's always worked for me.
We run 5 or so MC's on Mac (and more on PCs) and managed correctly it can be done without issues.
