Re: [Avid-L2] Uninstall Madness

Well, in this latest madness, it wouldn't matter if you did or didn't do that.  The problem seems to be with with the uninstaller itself (which I have used now two different un-installers) to the same effect which is a kernel panic and shut down which I have NEVER seen happen in relationship to ANY software package that I have ever used, prior to Avid.

And NOW, having thought that I uninstalled everything (per the instructions seen on the Avid YouTube video) I found that it didn't QUITE do the trick.

And now the installer for 6.5.4 has failed and crashed.

Depending on whether or not this actually works today, will determine whether I become an Adobe Premiere subscriber (not that anybody at Avid cares).

There is nothing more aggravating than software which does not function at the very root level of ease of installation, upgrade and uninstallation.  That's just a deal breaker.

I've always found it safer to uninstall MC before doing OS upgrades and then re-installing MC and that's always worked for me.

We run 5 or so MC's on Mac (and more on PCs) and managed correctly it can be done without issues.
