I noticed on my Direct TV HD Genie system when I tune to to USA network there is a brief pop up window saying "Watch Olympics" press red button. Doing so brings up a pop window with all the Olympic coverage over all the nbc/ universal owned channels. I have not seen this before. I assume this is an overlay the Direct TV box is putting over the channel. Does anyone have any experience with how something like this is designed and implemented. It's like pop adds on the net but now on Satellite. Not quite as annoying but I'm curious how and who sets this up. This is different than the "Smart TV" adding banners as far as I can tell.
