I'll bet he is very nice and very talented and experienced. I just said, based on the article that quoted him talking about why there were three editors, seemed to help explain to me why the film felt not great. but none of the comments here were meant to detract from the editor's talent. Even the other posters' snooze comment. I just felt that certain things in that article were illuminating. The director made a seasoned editor watch movies and quizzed him on them? He needed to see every scene with every take? All that shows a lack of trust or understanding how to work with a great editor. Also, too many movies are hobbled I think by stupid schedules that force producers and directors to work with too many editors. What next multi DP's ,multi Production designers? It's counter productive.
Geesh - No Owen I dint say that - I just implied that maybe "snoozer" was a little harsh but thats my opinion which I am able to express right?. Don't know the director but Jay Cassidy is one of the nicest people I have ever met in this biz ( next to Wilson, Oliver and Hullfish :) )
