Hi Guys and Mike,
"the wailing here about how crazy avid was they made the right choice, media composer fusion link is the smartest thing I've seen avid do in decades"
Let's be clear here. For the record, Current Management at Avid had absolutely nothing to do with development of eyeon Connection (FusionLink)
I (me) Jeff Krebs was the concept creator, architect and designer of Connection. It was completely engineered and programmed by Daniel Koch and owned by Eyeon Software
Steve McNeil and Michael Phillips were huge supporters of Connection (FusionLInk) at the time and Steve is a genius and heads-up M/E products at AutoDesk and also wrote special code to extract metadata from the Avid bins into our compositor and Michael was one of the few people at Avid who invented and understood workflow practices.
Tim Sinha was the big engineering support for the DS version and fixed dozens of bugs on DS that we found in the AVX code to get connection to run in DS of course - DS was killed off after 4 tough months of connection engineering.
Matt Feury was kind enough to get us a webinar spot at Avid.
now you know :-)
cheers
