[Avid-L2] RE: Avid's biggest challenges

 

In the TV show and feature world, it was originally up against Montage, Edifex and CMX6000. All showed "full-resolution" (VHS, Betamax or LaserDisc) images. So Avid's 4-bit color was a bit of a joke. You couldn't tell sync or eyeline on a medium or wide shot. Definitely not something most directors were comfortable with. So yes, I'm sure plenty or pejoratives were used.  ;-)
