[Avid-L2] RE: AMA Manager - Failure getting the OS volume ID for this volume - AMA won't link to folders

I am just posting my notes to close out this file, in case others are having the same problem.

Through a series of searches for various error messages, I've come to the conclusion that somehow my permissions for the drives and/ or users got switched from "read and write" to "read only" and this was what didn't allow me to link via AMA (I also was unable to import audio files for a short period).  These were the error messages I was getting:  Failure getting the OS volume ID for this volume AND There are no media drives available.

I filtered out the launch and system drives. Made sure that all my harddrives were "read/write", used Disk Utility to Verify Disk, rebooted.  I also had to make sure that my user settings were  "read/write".  Not sure how it happened that sometimes my permissions were read only and sometimes read/write, but it seems to have solved the problem and I am now able to import and also AMA link.
