This might be helpful as well

AFAIK, If they send you an AAF with a data track and the Data MXF file with the caption, you import into MC and export an OP1a MXF embedded captions shoud be there, I don´t think they will remain if you downconvert or if you export QT from MC.

I know this gets brought up consistently, but

I am trying to figure out if a closed captioning place sends me their files via AAF, and I embed that into the Avid project, will any exports (even same as source) contain the closed captioning from the AAF?

I have three 30 second TV spots. But they are tagged VISUALLY ONLY with five different tags (five different markets, but the audio stays the same) PLUS I need to deliver HD and SD versions of each of those spots, so that's a total of 30 versions (3 x 5 x 2).

I'm just trying to keep the CC info so that I don't have to deliver 30 versions to the closed captioner.

Thoughts?

Steve
