I've been on one for about 4 years and while there are some gotchas given the ad hoc nature of our installation it works well and at our peak we had over 20 stations of Avid sharing projects through an older Unity and media was on the Sanmp. It seems to depend on the particular components use to set it up. The software seems stable in our mac environment but sometimes our hardware is lacking in throughput. I have my on online drive chassis and that works well for me but as we've shifted to HD we get more digistall like errors when 2 or more stations are trying to capture while I work. When running SD it wasn't as much of an issue but this is more indicative of the hardware not SanMp software. The major downside is it's a pieced together system not a turnkey setup so just like any 3rd party hardware festival you may have some headaches depending on who and how it is setup.
