Just hacked together a spare z420 e5-1620 today. <br/><br/>A bit of an experiment but so far so good. <br/><br/>Black magic decklink in the top slot. Gtx 680 video card in the first avail pcie 3x16. Atto 81en 8gb fiber card right next to the double wide video card. It needs at least pci 2x8. Sorry can't remember the slot off the top of my head. <br/><br/>With that much stuff you have to watch the power budget as some z420 power supplies are only 600w. We pulled a second drive and think the 4 core CPU is helping there too. Not all video cards are going to pull the 175w of the 4gb gtx 680 though.<br/><br/>Oddly enough 32gb of ram made it happy. 48gb made it pitch a fit and not boot. We were mixing memory sizes but HP says you can do that.<br/><br/>We know this is very unsupported but we wanted a box to make resolve and adobe stuff happy. But symphony 6.0.3 seems fine so far.
