Re: [Avid-L2] Re: I read the news today, oh boy,..

Terry, you sure it wasn't the "mall food"?

But that reminds me of the little virtual arcade they had at the Luxor (during NAB). They would squeeze you into this little spaceship cockpit (which sat on a gyro), and close the doors. There were screens and active gauges and speakers all around you.

As you fought the aliens, the pod would spin and shake, and you could literally fly upside down as long as you could stand it, (or afford it). It was like a poor man's Boeing flight simulator, and better than Luxor's huge theme ride

Nowadays, they could do this in 4K using three screens and a couple cheap Nvidia cards.

But just like watching 4k in my living room, I doubt it would add much to the experience.

Guess I'll schedule a trip to Best Buy, just to be sure.

You put on a helmet, stood in a small circular area surrounded by guard rails, and entered a shoot em' up world. I played for about 20 minutes and it was really cool. When you turned, the image turned with you. Total virtual reality.
