I upgraded two systems yesterday and experienced a couple of oddities. In anticipation of this upgrade had previously downloaded 6.5.3 (which doesn't contain the entire suite) using a link provided here on the L2. I did have to download 6.5.2 (which contains the entire suite) and I had no problem downloading the 6.5.2 app and the 3 remaining suite apps simultaneously using Avid's download manager (on a PC).
While upgrading one system from 6.0 to 6.5.3 I discovered, to my great surprise, that the dongle updater sent by Avid via email was an updater for MC 6.0 - the email even stated that is was a 6.0 updater. Hmmmmm... not good, especially since I already had version 6.0 registered to that dongle. Checking the pdf screen print I made of the dongle updater page clearly indicated that I would be receiving a 6.5 updater. Fortunately the updater that was provided by the online updating process was a 6.5 updater. Why I received an updater for 6.0 by email is most curious.
The second oddity was the Nvidia display driver. The README for MC 6.5.3 clearly states "This version of the editing application requires the following Nvidia Driver: v310.90.". It also details the location of this file. Well it's not there. The version of the Nvidia driver installed in that location when I upgraded to MC 6.5 is Nvidia driver version 275.89. Alas, nowhere on the Avid site can I find a copy of the "required" driver.
