Hi Terence,
Am archiving on hard drive with proxies created in CatDV. Am backing up
all original media with CatDV catalogs and proxies onto LTO-5 tapes.
I have two LTO's for each backup session - one stored at office, the
other at house. For my kids, they want their material on hard drives
(Probably will be SSD's since we are at least 5 years from them being
married!).
I have been transferring 8mm films as well using a Sniper DV
system...not even close to a Rank in quality, but for home use, it looks
pretty good.
Hope that clears up what I am doing.
