No. I believe that AVCHD is set in the Media Creation tool as the "native" codec for importing and capturing. It's definitely NOT AMA linked.
I was shocked to see it myself. Supposedly multiple stations in the O&O group use the same AVCHD (or AVCIntra or something) codec for capture/transcode/storage for INTERNAL Avid use on ISIS. This seems to be dictated by the ability of some fast import from P2 cards from the news cameras. I'm at home and don't have access to the ISIS or MC to see what the codec is specifically. The station has an "elite" ACSR who has explained all of this to me. On my projects at the station I use DNxHD, but I'm a freelancer there.
