I've seen something similar with the eyedropper in the colour correction
window, depending on which monitor the colour correction window are
parked on. On one monitor it works properly, on the other it samples
from some distant point on the monitor that is not under the tip of the
eyedropper. If you're working with more than 1 monitor, try swapping
your windows around.
