We are currently still on MC5.5, using Adrenaline boxes for our
I/O. We own three seats of MC6 that we're not using yet. The boss
is interested in moving up to MC6, or even 6.5, but of course
that means moving to a different BOB.
We shoot P2, AVCHD and Canon's MXF formats, but have to deliver
on HDCAM tape to our stations, so we need reliable Digital Cut.
On very rare occasion we have to digitize from Composite,
Component and/or (HD)SDI.
Q 1) What hardware are you using, and are you happy with it in
regards to #1 Stability, and #2 function/features.
Bonus question, we are currently using 8 core Nehalem Mac Pros
that we're happy with. Of course we'll need to upgrade the OS
along with Media Composer, but,
Q 2) does MC6 need faster hardware to run on?
