I'd you one version, say 6.5 to AMA link and then transcode to say DNX36. clone that media. then bring the finished timeline back to the 6.5 machine AMA link then transcode to finishing quality.
AMA isn't robust enough for shared projects and 5.5 to 6.5 is a big jump. AMA is still evolving a lot.
