Hey for 500 hours I saw the Broadcast Store in Burbank has a used Sony BVH-3100 for under 5 grand. I did a series of 130 episodes on these babies back in 88' and they worked well once we got the color framing setup correctly. No major down time in 2 years. Heck once your done with the transfers you can spin pizza dough on the take up reels and the air threading mechanism is probably great for shredding cheese for the pie. ;-)
