Don't quite remember when we stopped running 5.5.2, but I bet it's fine on 10.6.8. I've got three systems running 5.3.3.x on 10.6.8 with no issues for close to a year.
You might want to consider switching to a newer version of 5.5 anyway as there have been a ton of bug fixes since 5.5.2, but then if the bugs that have been fixed aren't affecting you, maybe not.
