Our Mini is old and was having some problems but we did a side by side with the 2D and the 2D certainly looks much better. Easier to use as well. I loved the old big Teranex. I actually thought it made better pictures than Alchemist. So far, the 2D is great. We just used it to convert a bunch of 29.97 SD and HD material to 1080p 23.98 and it looked great.
