OK, so Roger and Terry were both right.
When I do it the old way which is with smart tools off but using the red segment tool which I have mapped to F10 it works if I OPTION double click but not with just a plain double click.
When I turn smart tools ON (Yuk) and use the red arrow smart tool a plain old double click on the effect icon in the bin it works too.
It's a brave new world we are living in.
Confusing, but brave.
Thanks for all the suggestions.
Tony
PS: (OT) Terry, what happened to the Terrence and Philip show? There hasn't been an update in iTunes for quite a while. I always enjoyed them and learned a lot. Is Philip's boat floating without him? I was going to go see it in the Erie Canal up here in the wilds of Central New York state, but it wasn't worth the hour's drive if Philip wasn't on it.
