Not sure what the connection is but...I downloaded Mountain Lion 10.8.2 (in case it suddenly jumps to .8.3 and I cant upgrade avid). I loaded onto my new SSD in slot four of my Mac Pro. It is not my startup disk as that runs 10.6.8. But when you install it does a restart. Suddenly, my 6TB Raid could not be read even though I was not booting up in Mountain Lion. I pulled it off the system and checked it on my laptop and it seemed fine. Tried again and could not be read. I erased Mountain Lion off the SSD and tried again but still could not read it. I pulled the sata cable and went fire wire and it mounts.
Could there be anything that goes on when you install another OS on another drive that could affect other parts of your system?
The SATA card runs another raid which never blinked through any of this so I don't think the card was affected.
