Sorry, I meant the slot. Expresscard 1 runs on PCI-Express 1.0/USB2 slots
whereas Expresscard 2.0 runs on the PCI-Express 2.0/USB3 standard.
Expresscard 2.0 was standardized in 2009 so if I were to guess, the 2009
MBP's used the older 1.0 chipsets. You'll have to contact Apple to make
sure though.
