Re: [Avid-L2] OT: Avocent KVM Extenders

Sorry, should have given more info.  The KVM is running on CAT6 ethernet. This model is a single head DVI-D connector. It is running DVI-D into the DVI-D port of the monitor, and I also tried it with a DVI-D to HDMI cable. The local computer is hooked up via Display Port and is running at 1920x1080.  The message is coming from the avocent. It says the monitor does not support 1920 x 1200 or anything below until I get down to 1280 x 1024, but then of course everything is soft as hell because the monitor is not running native.

Is this ethernet (copper) or fiber (optical) based KVM extender?

If ethernet based, try cycling power on both sides. If not, try changing
your cable to CAT6 shielded solid core.
