Actually it isn't, if only Avid could do a better job of the tape versus source thing. Other applications use a single, common identifier (card name, embedded reel name, etc.) in the same way as Avid uses video tape reels. So you have this type of association in Resolve for example. Avid could easily provide such grouping with a few simple modifications.
