Re: [Avid-L2] OT: graphics from the past

 

I liked Symbolics a lot.
I was using several Symbolics system , I remember a big one called 3650. :)
I even got training in High Wycombe, where their head office was sometime
around 1993. Saw one of the very first HD resolution graphics/3d animation
there, while it was rendered at the office, it was a kind anti AIDS ad if í
remember well.
One of the very first 3D animation award at Cannes International Advertising
Film Festival
was a Golden Lion Award for Best Commercial 1992, BMW ³Mercury², which was
made on a Symbolics system with heavy use of its programming language LISP.
It was exactly 20 years ago :)
