RE: [Avid-L2] DCP Knowledge in LA area

One significant hurdle for us was actually putting the DCP on a compliant
drive which you can't format on a MAC or PC, it has to be Linux and it's a
command line thing. Inodes.

I couldn't find any PC software to do this.. EXT2/3 with 128 INODES..
strangely difficult it seemed!

Z800 with big GFX card. Its not just making the DCP it's the playing to
check it that's not easy without a serious PC

Also check out FinalDCP and EasyDCP.

Thing is: it's not fast (My tests showed 7fps on a 12-core z800). Final DCP
lets you use networked computers as rendering nodes, so that could speed
things up a bit.

Packages will do what you need AFAIK, including a Rec709->P3 color space
conversion.

Would love to know about any good resources, butbI think this is a wheel
everyone's inventing as we type.

My need for DCP would be for screening cutting copies in theatres. So Avid
DNxHD offline to DCP. But I'd love to have something that would do the job
closer to realtime.
