[Avid-L2] Re: Alexa ProRes, Avid, and Frame Rates

 

Well if the TV episodes are going to be PAL based, I'd go for a shoot at 25fps which means the running time for the TV will always be the same and you just do one version for the theatrical release - for which the duration doesn't matter much. Also, it will run slightly slower on the big screen, which is fine as the screen is... bigger indeed.
And converting the TV episodes from PAL 25fps to NTSC 30 (or whatever version of NTSC) won't affect the duration either.

Now of course, if post happens in the US, it might get slightly complicated to do it at 25fps.
