Never dealt with AJA IO Express specifically, but with all other AJA products I've used, there was always an AJA uninstaller in the AJA Utilities folder in the Applications folder. I've uninstalled and back-reved Kona cards successfully this way.
I've got the software combo you mention working on a Kona LHi, but that's so different from what you've got it really doesn't mean much.
Hope this works in your case.

I do not seem to be able to back-rev, either, and, naturally, I didn't bother to make a copy of the system drive first.

I'm reluctant to rebuild these systems completely, since they're VERY loaded - Media Composer, Final Cut, and Adobe 5.x on all, and they were working fine until I installed the current IO Express drivers. The time it takes to get from the install version of OSX to 10.7.3, not to mention FCP DVD to 7.0.3 is enough to kill a day per system, so if anyone knows the solution to AJA driver dilemma, I'd sure appreciate any leads.
