No, no import neither. You cannot File->Import R3D.
Use RedCine-X or MetaFuze or Resolve (all free) to convert the R3D's to Avid MXF mediafiles, then bring these into MC. Not really an import (although you can import the clip data through AAF), but third-party creation of actual Avid mediafiles, which you can just toss into your Avid MediaFiles folder.
Then bring the clips in through AAF, or open the Media Tool, find the clips, and drag them into a bin.
