Not sure about that but I do remember while still under support I blasted my dongle even before I upgraded to V 4.x. Turns out that was a good thing because I later learned that even though we had valid support when V4 came out once we were no longer under support I would not have been able to blast the dongle to V4 even though we had valid support when it came out. Use it or lose it approach. Glad I decided to blast when I did. I thought the versioner was for the entire avid world not just support contract holders but I'd love to here from an Avid person what the policy is for sure.
