v6 with Matrox Mini should support 1080p29.97.
Not so sure about v5.5 and earlier.

Makes sense. When you place 29p files in a 59i project, a motion adapter (see your other question) will be auto-applied. In the case of 29p to 59i, you should be able to just delete the motion adapter, as the speed is the same, and you then will be adding interlacing (much like PsF). Or you can go into the Motion Adapter and set the effect type to Both.
