I second this advice; it's what we're doing. When I upgraded our
MacPros a couple years ago, I was curious about this very thing
so I benchmarked the speed on 2x, 3x, and 4x internal RAID-0 set
ups. I don't remember the numbers anymore, but each added disk
gave a significant, real-world speed boost resulting in more
tracks playable in real time.
