[Avid-L2] Re: So what is the official definition of an 'orphan media file'?

 

Media for which there is no clip is still tracked in the database as an orphan clip. It has to be tracked if there is media for the ( now deleted) clip on ISIS. It is often NOT OK to delete an orphan clip. Just because the clip is gone does not mean the media is not in a timeline. The Interplay attribute IN USE can be queried to see if the orphan is in use or not.
