[Avid-L2] Re: Red Workflow Test yields differing video levels between ama and transcode?

The test was shot 29.97 or 59.94. I wasn't there can the Red shoot 59.94I or is it 29.97P? I'll ask tomorrow. We did transcode to dnx 220 with reformat set to "Center Crop". I've been told that creates 1920x1080 with nothing outside that. For our purposes that seems fine. I don't understand what you mean by scales down as fit width? I assume you mean the sides fit and the little black bars top and bottom are because it's 2:1 not 16:9. Is there a way to get the Red to shoot a real 16x9 1920x1080?

It appears as was pointed out that the default for ama linked clips is the camera metadata but the default for the relinked sequence is to go to the "default" setting which is different from the camera metadata. By refreshing the sequence set source settings it all matched. It seems odd that the sequence which was a duplicate of the offline sequence would be set to "default" as opposed to camera metadata settings but maybe something go changed on the offline sequence without me knowing it. All is seeming correct now and the transcode is moving pretty fast for the 2 minute test. We set the reformat to "center crop" because I'm doing this for cable network delivery. Is Center Crop the correct setting for straight forward no need to pan and scan work? I'm assuming the dnx 220 transcoded clips will then just be standard
> 1920x1080 media. Is this correct or will I still have the ability to access data outside the center crop? I'll be checking this once the transcode is done but curious what others have experienced.

I will have to find out more details from the AE working on the test.
