granularity. The steps aren't fine enough in the external color correction mapping to make the panel really usable.
For example, move the balls on the panel as slowly as you can, in Color and Resolve, you get fine adjustments. In Avid CC, you get a steppy movement. Watch the actual numbers in the numerical readout while you do it. You will see that the finest movement you can get will be around half a point. 1.25 to 1.75 for example. You can manually type in any number in between, but you won't be able to get there with the panel, or a mouse, or a pen, etc. So it is an issue with how finely an external device can control the color correction engine.
Also, there is an inherent lagginess which is probably tied to the same issue. CAVEAT: You probably won't notice these issues if you are only looking at the CPU monitor. Watching on an external monitor or scope, this will become very apparent and make the panel essentially unusable.
