Hey everyone....
Since I manage the community I figure I should weigh in here....
The community.avid.com Video Pro forums have an escalation process. The moderators of the forums - and there are many of them - have specific parameters and guidelines to escalate issues. They determine the issue, steps to reproduce and any other nuggets that can help us pin point the problem and a priority level.
We considered a forum where customers could post but decided against it based on the forum structure today. Also many times a customer reacts to an issue on their system - "its a bug" when in fact it isn't. It would be a LOT of work to pour through a forum like that to determine what is a bug and what is not.
Best bet is to post to the forum that pertains to your product or workflow, see if others report the same and then let the moderator escalate if necessary. There are a bunch of folks on my escalation email disti list from beta to CET to engineering to CS.
Hope that helps and *I* hope as we move forward that we can make some changes to the community site so we can potentially have a bug forum where we rate and score the issues.
