[Avid-L2] Re: baselight vs symphony

Thanks for posting that link.

Does anyone know for sure that the video image being corrected is also viewable on an external Program Monitor (HD-SDI/HDMI) via Nitris DX, Mojo DX or 3rd Party interface. I assume it is (like BCC) -- but just looking for confirmation.

It's a shame AVX2 plugin architecture fundamentally limits the user's ability to reference and recall settings of other effects or corrections on the same timeline (using something like thumbnails or a pulldown menu). But aside from Source Side Correction -- even Avid's native CC does not offer that.

Like everything else, it's a trade-off. Correct within the app with a third party plugin like Baselight -- roundtrip multiple layers, composites and keys to an external solution like Resolve -- or hope that Avid's 2nd Gen CC Tool can compete with the featuresets of Baselight and Resolve.
