[Avid-L2] Re: Going Freelance

 

Would that make Obamacare a vote winner in freelance / cheapskate prod company circles?

I'm not being facetious, but in the UK we don't have to worry so much about 'benefits' - in that we have full medical insurance cover from the Government. Most companies don't offer such 'benefits' anyway.

Here it's about them avoiding committing to headcount and avoiding various taxes.

Most folks I work with, that are permanent staffers, are <35. Most editors I know, who are 95% freelance, are >35. The staffers are less secure in my experience.
