I'm shocked too, but I just checked out my 5D and sure enough, it has a 640x480 setting. So that's actually LESS than SD. Why anyone would want to shoot 640x480 with a Canon 5D is beyond me, but it's possible. I mean the HD files are so compressed that they really don't take up much space.
