Tony there're tutorials on YouTube by Boris FX as well as on the website. I'm not sure if Avid has any. Just remember that avid FX is just Boris red renamed.
It's really simple to use and pretty intuitive. BCC effects which I'm sure you are familiar with are just a subset of red.
