So I started to play with a round trip to resolve and big surprise I'm having issues. I seem to have found out the hard way at least with SD footage Resolve Lite doesn't seem to like Compressed SD. I transcoded a 15:1S sequence to 1:1 and it finally worked. I also tried transcoding to 2:1 and that didn't work in that Resolve Lite didn't see it in the media browser etc... So I was able to load a simple 4 shot all cuts aaf into Resolve and I could see it and I was able to move media and mess things up and learn how to reconnect the clips but reconnecting the clips didn't "relink" the session timelines to the newly reconnected clips so is there something akin to relink for the timelines when the media gets moved to a different location? Finally I rendered out the graded version and it created .mxf files that I could bring in through media tool but not relink to. Upon inspection the rendered media didn't have any tape name associated with the
clips when viewed in an Avid bin. I've read about something in V6 that might allow Avid to swap filenames for tape names for imported media but all this was tape based media. In the render window I choose the Avid AAF roundtrip easy setup. The shots timecode is correct but with no tape name no relinky which makes me cranky. I exported an ale as I didn't find an aaf export, is there one I'm Missing? The manual I'm using is from 8.0 perhaps that is part of my problem. Any suggestions appreciated. Perhaps it's just my frustration but every time I look down it's like all the trackballs on the Artist Color are laughing at me. ;-(
