Reading the Resolve Configuration Guide: http://tinyurl.com/7n2vl8k there may be some issues with configuring an HP Z800 to play nice with both Media Composer and Resolve.
Some of the issues have to do with slot configuration. For example, Avid wants the DX HBA in slot 1 -- while BMD wants their DeckLink in slot 1. Also, Avid wants the local storage controller in slot 5 -- while BMD wants the nVidia CUDA GPU in slot 5.
But possibly more problematic, the Resolve installer automatically installs an nVidia Toolkit if it doesn't find one on the host machine. And, Resolve seems to require a certified CUDA driver (280.26) in order for Resolve to recognize the GPU card.
I'm not sure of the impact of all of this. I definitely can't fully satisfy BMD's specifications. But I think I'll clone my boot drive before giving the beta software a shot ... just in case I need to hit the rewind button on my z800.
