I know, I know. HDV is awful. But on to the current situation. I've been handed a whole bunch of QTs that were digitized with Quicktime Pro v7.6.6 from HDV tape over firewire to QTs in native codec. The codec loaded at the time appears to be AppleHDVcodec v1.5. When I try and use them in Media Composer, either v5.0.3 or v6 I am getting the error
Exception: Failed to get the sample temporal offset from the AMA Plug-in
I've done some searching on different forums and I'm not setting answers that address this HDV codec. On both Avids, v5.0.3 and v6, I have tried the newest version of the codec I could find, v2.0.1, and the codec that was used when digitizing the footage, v1.5.
In MC in the bin under the Video column they are listed as HDV 1080i (1080i/60i)
Any suggestions on how to make AMA work with this codec? Or is converting the QTs to a different codec gong to be the only answer?
Thanks,
Jay
