The only question I have is whether the new, Thunderbolt iMac I will eventually upgrade to, with appropriate Thunderbolt storage, will successfully run Avid in 64 bit, and let me push full 1080, or perhaps even someday 4K files, through the pipe without choking. If so, I will survive on Mac at least at home. If I have to color correct in a PC environment, so be it. I've done it before.
Hell, my 2008 iMac has already comfortably accessed 8TB of 1080 HD already. The only problem there was the crap Western Digital storage I was compelled to work with, and the firewire 800 daisy chain.
