[Avid-L2] upgrade time thoughts

 

Hi all,
I'm looking to upgrade my system but before I do I wanted to get the thoughts of the collective experts. I am upgrading from MacBookPro 2.8 GHZ Core 2 Duo, 4GB ram with Avid MC5.5.2 and Mojo SDI (SD). I expect to be working with HD down the road. I would like a new MacBook Pro if it can handle the load. What has been the experience with a MacBook Pro vs. an iMac or a MacPro tower? Also, any thoughts on capture I/O boxes; Aja, or Matrox. TIA for the valuable opinions.
