[Avid-L2] Kona 3 AES audio to analog

 

Hi all,
Looking to repurpose two Kona 3 cards from just FCP platforms to dual
boot with MC. We don't have the BOBs so I'm looking at solutions to
getting the digital only audio from the cards to monitors.

One solution I've seen is this:

which would require an XLR to BNC converter. The price is reasonable
although for two of them I could just get a new BM and have a little
more flexibility.

Has anyone else solved this in a different way? We'd love to keep the
cost down but I'm leaning more toward recommending newer BM cards to
have some flexibility with Resolve, etc.
