RE: [Avid-L2] Re: Disk_Access_Denied

Most EditShare systems are sold with support - and their Mad Linux geniuses
are pretty good. I'd just let them log onto your system and figure it out.

Yes, I'm guessing it wants to change the database and I don't really know
where to go from here if that's the case.

It may want to write an index file or change the Avid Media Database.

Also... If you note from my original mail, the file for which MC was
complaining it didn't have access was the offline media on the ES. Why would
it need access to that?

Project is local, and I have a local media drive. Offline media is all
read-only on the EditShare (as are the offline media's databases of course).

I believe I may have found a workaround. I've unmapped all the ES media
drives, launched MC and opened a fresh copy of the project. Obviously all
the media is offline. It appears to now be allowing me to import the files
and then happily linking to that media. What I don't know yet is what will
happen when I put the ES back online so as to access other media from it
that I do need.

Does that all make sense?

Almost sounds like the project is on a read-only drive.
