Nitris DX is not supported on laptops.

Matrox MXO2 mini is, but only on certain models. Check the document to see if your MacBook qualifies.

Other than that, I would try  Full Screen Playback on your secondary display port. There's nothing to loose, as it comes at no extra cost.

A quick shows that I am NOT booting in 64 bit mode. So that's not the problem. But that was a good check. Back to square one, then. Well, maybe not square one. Maybe square two.
